10-day Kick-start

Our NEWSTART 10-day Kick-start is the best way to start your journey to a new and healthier you. Each recipe has been hand selected from our collection of over 500 low-fat, tasty recipes to provide you with a balanced, nutritious diet that your family will love. They are quick and easy to prepare. And to make life even easier, use the included shopping list to have all the ingredients you’ll need right at your fingertips. Choose an item from the list for each meal and compliment with other items from our recipe section if you like. Bon appétit!

Shopping List

Flour, Breads, Grains

  • 1 lb. of oats
  • 1 lb. of quick oats
  • 1/2 lb. granola
  • 1 lb. brown rice
  • 1/2 lb. whole grains
  • 1/2 lb. cornmeal
  • 1/2 lb. cracked wheat
  • 1/2 lb. rice flour
  • 1/2 lb. walnut meal
  • 2 bags of small whole wheat pita bread pockets
  • 1 roll of crusty whole grain baguette
  • 1 bag of whole wheat tortillas

Fruits

  • 1 can of pineapple chunks
  • 1 lb. of dates
  • 1 lb of dried or fresh fruit (any mixture)
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 bag of frozen mangoes and strawberries
  • 4 golden delicious apples
  • 1 bag of seedless grapes
  • 1/2 lb. raisins
  • 1/2 lb. blackberries frozen

Nuts & Oils

  • 1/2 lb. of cashews
  • 1/2 lb. of pine nuts
  • 1/2 lb. of walnuts
  • Small container of sesame seeds
  • 1 small bottle of olive oil
  • 1 small bottle of sesame oil

Milk & Juices

  • 1 qt. apple juice
  • 1 carton of plain soy milk
  • 1 can of unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 can of frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 1 small bottle of lemon juice

Seasoning & Flavoring

  • 1 small bottle of ground coriander
  • 1 small bottle of sea salt
  • 1 small bottle of ground turmeric
  • 1 small bottle of celery salt
  • 1 small bottle of garlic powder
  • 1 small bottle of onion powder
  • 1 small bottle of oregano
  • 1 small bottle of paprika
  • 1 small bottle of basil
  • 1 small bottle of vanilla extract (Non-alcohol)
  • 1 small bottle of unsweetened coconut extract
  • 1 lb of yeast flakes
  • 1 bottle of Braggs Liquid Amino
  • 1 bottle of Agave
  • 1 bottle Bills Best Chik’Nish
  • 1 bottle Bills Best Beef seasoning
  • 1 small bottle of ground thyme
  • 1 small bottle of ground dill weed
  • 1/2 lb. garlic granules
  • 1/2 lb. onion granules
  • 1 small bottle of sage
  • 1 small bottle of cumin
  • 1/2 lb. arrow root powder
  • 1 can of tahini

Produce

  • 4 medium yellow onions
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 bunch of green onion
  • 1/2 bunch of fresh parsley
  • 1 package or small container of sliced mushrooms
  • 2 large handfuls of baby spinach
  • 4 roma tomatoes
  • 1 12 oz. can of tomatoes
  • 5 medium yams
  • 1 large clove of garlic
  • 1 large heads of garlic
  • 2 medium heads of garlic
  • 1 lb. of carrots
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2 green peppers
  • 1 ginger root
  • 1 bag of romaine lettuce
  • 3 bunch of cilantro
  • 1 medium eggplant
  • 2 large avocados
  • 1/2 lb. sprouts
  • 2 medium cucumbers
  • 12 medium whole potatoes
  • 3 yukon gold potatoes
  • 1/2 lb. fresh basil
  • 1/2 lb. fresh italian parsley

Beans & canned foods

  • 1 lb. of dry kidney beans
  • 1 15 oz. can of pinto beans
  • 1/2 lb. of garbanzo beans
  • 1 can of sliced black olives
  • 1/2 lb. of green olives
  • 2 cans of black beans
  • 1 8oz. or 16 oz. can of fat free re-fried beans
  • 2 cans of cannellini beans

Tofu, etc.

  • 4 packages of firm tofu (preferably Mori-Nu brand)
  • 1 package of extra firm tofu
  • 1 package of silken tofu
  • 1 10oz. bag of frozen peas
  • 1 10oz. bag of frozen kernels
  • 1 small jar of no fat spaghetti sauce

    I am interested in your 10 day plan for two persons. How many persons is the shopping designed for?  Also, how do I make the recipes work for two people? Thank you for your help.

    Does this list include such things as fruit for the waffles, or a salad of some type to go with the lunches and dinners, or a side of vegetables to go with the meals, fruit or what ever to go with the breakfasts?
    Like Day #8, are we to just eat mashed potatoes? How do we make these 10-days of meals complete meals? Please answer asap, would like to start this. the other questions have been here since the first week of March and it is now the 24th. Thanks.

    Where may I find the answers to the previously asked questions posted from Carol, Sheri, & Debra?  I am on a 2 meal a day plan, although my husband eats 3.

    We are currently working with our dietician to come up with a meal plan that accommodates 2 meal plans, as well as suggestions for sides to pair with each entree.  :)  Blessings!!

    “10-day Meal Plan” is misleading. This menu was intended to give you a starting point to exploring the over 500 recipes on the club. It has been renamed “10-day Kick-start”. A true meal plan is currently being developed by NEWSTART and should be available sometime later this year.

    Is there anyone that can help develop resources for the poor living in one room apartments that usually have a microwave and a tiny refrigerator? I am looking at the needs of the poor living in The Tenderloin, San Francisco.

    I am interested in this plan but I am gluten free. Plus, I cannot eat any raw fruits And vegetables because I have a severe pollen allergy. Is there a way to get a 10 day program personally tailored to my conditions?

    Wow!!!! Was I disappointed!  I was really expecting to receive a 10-day Kick Start Program that was affordable and would start me mentally on my way to a healthier lifestyle.  I am sorry, but I was disappointed.  Please help me!  I cannot afford to attend the 18-day Program.

    hmmmmm, just noticing that some of these things on the shopping list are listed as “canned pinto beans” “spray with Pam non stick” aren’t there some pretty unclean ingredients in canned and boxed items?? I was taught that we should stick with clean foods/ingredients to eat healthy. In fact when I attended weimar our hands on cooking classes never consisted of such unclean items or ingredients to cook with let alone put into our bodies. Am I missing something here?
