Berry Fruit Sauce

Instructions

  1. Place frozen fruit, apple juice, and 2 cups water in a kettle.
  2. Place over high heat until just beginning to boil. Remove from heat. Be careful not to overcook, especially the blueberries.
  3. Slowly stir in the cornstarch until it thickens.
  4. Return to heat and stir until it just starts to boil.
  5. Remove from heat and serve hot or cold over waffles or French toast.

    I would like to use my own FRESH strawberries and blackberries.  How many cups would that require?  I too, would prefer to juice my own apples, instead of apple juice concentrate.  I suppose I have a mistrust in commercial products, especially with all the recent recalls.
