An easy way to replace hamburger in recipes. Besides being a lot healthier than most meat alternatives sold in the stores, our burger is much cheaper as well. It tastes great and you'll have a hard time telling the difference!
- Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until thick.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.
- Use the burger as it is, or place in a Teflon skillet and brown over medium-high heat, stirring now and then. If desired, add about 1 cup diced onion before browning.
Variation: Bulgur Taco Filling.
Replace Beef-Like Seasoning with 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, try our Homemade Taco Seasoning. Then serve it in tacos, burritos, or tostadas.
