Instructions

  1. In a small pan, add water and flaxseeds and bring to a boil.
  2. When water turns to a jellylike consistency, remove from stove and pour through a strainer into a container.
  3. Cool and store in refrigerator.

NOTE:1/4 cup flaxseed gel = 1 egg.

    I would recommend that it be used within 24-48 hours.

    does this work well as a binding agent in baked recipes?

    You can also use 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed with 3 tablespoons water as a substitute for one egg.
