A Middle Eastern classic with the distinctive flavors of garbanzos, sesame seeds and garlic. Fill a whole wheat pocket bread with this spread along with diced cucumber and tomatoes, avocado slices, lettuce, and sprouts and you have a meal!

  1. Soak 1 cup dry garbanzos overnight, then cook in 1 quart water until tender (about 5 hours; 25-30 minutes in pressure cooker).
  2. Mix all ingredients until smooth

    I would put 1 can garbanzos w/ bean juice and garlic/onion powder, dash cumin, dash salt. blend til smooth. stop to taste. I like mine thinner,  so I add more bean juice. lastly I stream in 1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil from open top of blender, while it is running.
